Private Lesson
Individual instruction between one student and one instructor
Each student receives one FREE lesson upon registration. This offer is only good with Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio Instructors, not referrals. By giving a free lesson up front, both your child and instructor have an opportunity get to know each other to make sure there is a good fit.
During this lesson, the Instructor will evaluate your student’s needs and desires in order to develop an appropriate lesson plan. This means your student will be assessed for not only musical skills and abilities, but personality traits and barriers to success in order to fit your child with the appropriate teacher.
Why? It is our desire that every student succeed. This assessment will ensure your student has a better experience and that realistic goals and expectations are set and met to the best of our abilities.
Pricing varies by instructor. Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio does not take a percentage or portion of lesson fees associated with teacher referrals.
What Is Success?
- In our opinion, success means growth as a musician, and towards becoming a mature, dependable member of society.
- Music is the tool by which our students grow. This growth includes caring for and about something beyond themselves. It means working with others, cultivating responsibility, patience, persistence, perseverance; handling success and failure, and much more.
- Bringing out and encouraging your child’s potential – not perfection.
- Success is a Team Effort
- When you choose to participate in private lessons you are part of a team that includes the instructor, parent, and student.
- Each parent, upon registration, has a responsibility to take an active interest and participate in their child’s learning process. Success doesn’t just happen. Success is cultivated. It is nurtured. It is encouraged within a loving, positive, and realistic atmosphere.

What’s the Value of Group Instruction?
There is a big educational value that comes with participating in group lessons. Here are some of the benefits:
- They Cultivate healthy competition whereby students motivate and encourage each other to grow.
- Encourage excellence, both musically and personally.
- Foster healthy social skills as students learn to interact with each other in a constructive, respectful manner and within a warm, caring, team-oriented environment.
- and, build confidence and strong musical skills.
Note: Group lessons introduce students to the ensemble experience and affords students an appreciation for being a part of something larger than themselves. Different skill sets are needed to participate in group settings, and these skills will be nurtured and developed within each participant.
My Student is Already in an Orchestra. Do They Still Need Group Instruction?
Small group lessons differ from orchestral participation in several ways:
- There are a limited number of students in the group
- Each group consists of same instruments and/or section players; eg. violin 1 group; Violin 2 group, viola group, cello group.
- techniques are learned by section in order to play together, match pitch, bow, dynamics, and more.
- Each student’s role within the group is vital to the success of the group as a whole.
- Personal responsibility and respect for all members is mandatory for involvement.

Sometimes small groups want to improve their performance techniques, play more stylized works, or learn to play together as a more cohesive group. Whatever your motivation or desire, our Professional coaches are here to get you to that next level.
We are available not only for community members, but to schools and foundations too.
And because every group is unique, we will consult with you to determine what your desired coaching goals are and set an appropriate, attainable schedule to help you reach your desired goal.
Currently all coaching appointments will be scheduled by our safety first policy as COVID regulations allow.

Masterclass
Delivered by highly-trained professionals and are available to individual students, groups, and schools within Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Masterclasses are different from the traditional instruction. Through masterclasses, we learn from watching others, and in doing so, we learn ourselves.
In this class you will observe playing techniques, musicality, performance and more. You will learn different styles of playing while developing your own, for it is one thing to play like the “Masters,” it’s quite another to find your voice and style.
There are two types of classes for you to explore.
- Zoom pre-recorded lessons – coming soon!
- Live events – due to COVID 19 all live events are postponed until further notice.
