Most of our customers don’t know where to begin when it comes to purchasing a musical instrument, and therefore, many get woo’d or talked into over-buying by a well-trained sales associate. It is because of this that Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio is taking a different approach to instrument sales, and is dedicated to educating our customers before they purchase. By educating our customers we are taking the mystery out of buying the right instrument at the right time, level and price.
Below are a few considerations to think about before you purchase a musical instrument:
- What instrument do you want to play, and why?
- How will you use your instrument?
- Marching Band, orchestra or band, school program, home, church, studio, small ensemble?
- Are you a total beginner, intermediate or advanced player?
- Are you a child, teen or adult learner?
- What price range and quality of instrument does my need require, or can I afford?
- Consult with us, your teacher or a professional; someone you trust – realize they have their preferences too so you might want to talk with several who understand what your goals are?
- know your options!
- Do I need a big Brand Name Instrument or can I purchase an off-brand instrument that is built well?
- You should never be pressured to purchase, make a well informed decision.
- When purchasing online, make sure your string instrument can be returned, and make sure you know your size…most string instruments do not come set-up – ready to play, and this will cost you extra after purchase?
